Bringing ChaBar to you —

We can bring the experience of ChaBar to your own private session.

Experience the harmony of music and tea!

We hold an event once a month, and each time with a new theme and new music. With each tea, we curate snacks that pairs well with it. The events last approximately 2 hours and are divided into two parts.

Part 1: Gongfu “kung fu” tea and traditional Chinese music

Zhang Yu makes tea for the guests and plays music while you drink the tea. Water is added to the tea leaves about 5 times, and for each time a new piece of music is played.

Part 2: Tea brewing

You get to brew tea yourself in the Chinese way with a Chinese tea set. Each participant can choose one of several different Chinese teas to brew, with the help of Zhang Yu, who also introduces the individual teas and their history. Along the way, Zhang Yu plays meditative Chinese music.

Our Story

"Gu Yue Cha Fang" means "music from the home town" in Chinese. It was founded by Zhang Yu, and she wants to create a teahouse where people can experience Chinese culture through smell, hearing, taste and sight. So for short, we call this place ChaBar.

In ancient times, there was always live music and various performances in Chinese teahouses. In our teahouse you can listen to live traditional Chinese music, drink tea and converse while making tea yourself with a traditional Chinese tea set.

Zhang Yu, founder of ChaBar

张羽, Zhang Yu

At ChaBar, our goal is to offer a unique cultural experience, blending of Chinese tea and music with the cozy charm of Danish afternoons.

Zhang Yu was born in Kunming in southern China and trained in traditional Chinese music at Yunnan Arts University. She plays a wide range of instruments and makes meditation music.

Experience first hand the harmony of music and flavor. Whether you're looking for a quiet moment to unwind or a cultural experience to share with friends, here with ChaBar is the perfect place!
